Malindi seafront road, here are the roadworks

Potholes to cover, but entire design has been changed

30-01-2020 by redazione

The now infamous potholes of Malindi's seafront, to which we have dedicated a poem, in addition to many curses, are about to be finally covered.
Unfortunately, these are not yet definitive works that are part of the total project of redevelopment of the waterfront road, but the Municipality of Malindi, together with the GreenandBlue Movement, have pushed for a series of temporary patches, pending approval of the final design.
In fact, the latter must include a shared work between the waterfront road and the embellishment project and the pedestrian zone, games and sports that is already being carried out in front of the fish market and the National Museum. The work to be shared is that of the rainwater channels and its disposal. Between street, sidewalks and pedestrian area, in fact, it is not possible to foresee different situations and concepts. The problem is that there are two companies that have contracted the works and the projects have different times, methods and financiers.
Surely they could have thought about it before, but so much so and in the meantime the bulldozers and workers of Equistar are working to dig and cover the most important holes, then the road from the port to the Osteria Town will be resurfaced and then ... we'll see.
