Yesterday 0 Covid-19 in Kenya: road to reopening

Percentages still under 5, only 9 cases on the coast

20-09-2020 by redazione

Percentages always reassuring, well below 5% in Kenya in the latest bulletin issued by the Ministry of Health. Pandemic curve that continues its process of flattening and if things go that way the Government could foresee the total reopening of the country after seven months of curfew and other restrictions, such as the closure of bars and nightclubs and the ban on selling alcohol in restaurants.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to speak in a week at the most, but perhaps already Friday, September 25th, the fate of the country and its citizens will be known.
In the meantime, yesterday there were no deaths in Kenya, compared to 105 new positive cases that bring the total number of infections recorded to date to 36,829. At the same time, 68 patients were discharged, 38 from home care and 30 from hospitals throughout the country, bringing the total number of recoveries to 23,777.
As always in Mairobi, the majority of cases have occurred, while the border between Uganda and Kenya is being monitored again. In the last 24 hours, 15 positives were found at Customs in Busia. Numbers that do not worry, even if the swabs are always few.
However, the almost total asymptomaticity of the latest cases recorded in the country should be noted.
On the coast yesterday, Saturday 19th September, only 9 positive and all in Mombasa.
