These holidays, which are almost over, between a terrible year and a new one that we hope will bring comforting news, starting with the vaccine, have given us some indications on travel between Italy and Kenya.
Here they are:

1 Even a tourist can come to Kenya, contrary to the Decree of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
It is enough to present a self-certification of temporary change of residence at the airport (it is almost always not even considered).

2 You have to apply for the visa online and present it at the boarding gate.

COMPULSORY FOR ENTRY

TAMPON: To enter Kenya it is necessary to present at the airport in Nairobi or Mombasa the PCR swab (not serological, not other type of analysis) carried out no more than 96 before departure. This is what the Kenyan protocol states and is also reported by our Ministry of Foreign Affairs. However, lately it may happen that there are indications of 96 hours before arrival in Kenya. This has already happened and it is a problem of interpretation of the protocol (which in English says "before travel"). To be totally sure of entering Kenya, it is therefore advisable to have the Tampon carried out no more than 96 hours after arrival in Kenya.
WITH THESE REQUIREMENTS THERE WILL BE NO NEED FOR QUARANTINE

QR CODE: You need to obtain the QR code that will be scanned by the Kenyan authorities to alert the Ministry of Health and other offices of your presence in Kenya. You can get it by filling in and sending this FORM:

ENTRY INTO KENYA:KENYA ACCEPTS TOURISTS FROM ITALY
Will stamp to those who arrive the tourist visa for 3 months renewable for another 3.
The cost of the visa is always 50 USD or 40 euro.

Here are the other provisions already in force for entry into Kenya

WORK: It means already having a work permit in Kenya and the corresponding stamp in your passport. Some compatriots have not been allowed to leave Italy because they did not produce evidence of their work permit, despite having submitted "screenshots" or printouts of the application to the Kenyan Immigration Office.
Others were detained because they only had an application for employment from a Kenyan company.

ABSOLUTE URGENCY: This category includes family reunifications with self-certification of urgency and documents proving the family relationship with Italians residing in Kenya or Kenyan citizens.  Regarding health problems, the decree is not very clear. It is advisable to ask at the Questura, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or competent Italian offices.
Those who have done so, according to reports on malindikenya.net, have been told that these are, in any case, only possibilities linked to those who are residents or Kenyan citizens living in Italy.

RETURN TO YOUR OWN HOME OR DOMICILE: Residents in Kenya who only have a residence permit (pensioners, etc...) can return if they have such a permit. Those who own a house declared as being in Italy could apply to move there. But it is worth asking the Prefecture beforehand. Regular rental contracts are also accepted.

ALL OTHER REASONS MAY NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Following numerous reports, controls at airports are being intensified, as is the pressure on airlines to carry out a first check on passengers. The second should be carried out by the Italian authorities at passport control.
