Unfortunately, we are now painfully accustomed to reading about femicides, about husbands who kill their wives, but certain news stories push us beyond the bounds of imagination in a gruesome way, bringing to mind practices that may have been common among some tribes in Africa more than a century ago.
It happened in a village in Kisii County, north-west Kenya: Stephen Oserio, a 50-year-old man who had spent 16 years in prison, confessed to killing his second wife and, after cutting her into pieces, feeding parts of her body to his children. For this reason, the Kenyan monster was burned alive by his neighbours and died from his burns.
According to police chief Kipkulei Kipkemoi, who spoke to the online newspaper Citizen Digital, the man had already been arrested in 2007 for killing his first wife and was released two years ago after serving his sentence. This was another reason why the local community became suspicious, as they had not seen his second wife for some time. So they went to his house and found the remains of a body believed to be that of his wife. After he confessed, they set him on fire.
