Polish tourists are also preparing to return to the Kenyan coast with a weekly charter flight to Mombasa, to which a second one will be added from January 2020.
The Czech Republic airline Smartwings Airlines, which also has carriers in Slovakia, Germany and Poland, from this Saturday will carry 200 passengers a week in Kenya and is already almost full from Christmas to the first months of the new year.
A Polish charter airline will fly weekly to Mombasa as it travels to cash in for the Christmas holidays.
Hoteliers talking to the local press have expressed confidence in the operations of the airline assuming that these new weekly arrivals will give new impetus to the tourism industry during the high season from November to December.
"This is the first charter that we welcome this year in the Polish market - announced Victor Shitakha, President of the Kenya Coast Tourism Association. And it is hopeful that in the first months of next year there will be two, for a total of 400 tourists a week.
In 2014 the number of Polish travelers arrived in Kenya had fallen to about 7,000 passengers, in four years have almost doubled, having landed as many as 15,500.
"Next year promises even better, we can count on the Polish market," added Shitakha. The hotels involved are located in all coastal regions.
