A three hundred and sixty degree virtual journey through Kenya today, with a series of experts who will speak and converse on various topics concerning a dynamic nation full of charm, contrasts and surprises.
This is the Webinar organised by Africa magazine on Wednesday 29 March at 6pm Italian time. Editor Marco Trovato will lead this interesting online in-depth discussion, with a series of distinguished guests, experts on Kenya and ready to offer their insight and unpublished aspects of the social, cultural, political and economic life of this nation: vital, ambitious and contradictory like few in the world. From former RAI correspondent from Nairobi Enzo Nucci, for 16 years the 'voice' of national information from Kenya and the whole of Sub-Saharan Africa, who talks about "his" Kenya, "Beautiful, damned, always on the move", to the Editorial Director of Africa e Affari magazine Massimo Zaurrini, who will talk about economic recovery and development challenges. From the entrepreneur and creative Lucrezia Bisignani, founder and managing director of Kukua, a factory that deals with educational animations for children, who will illustrate Kenya's future potential, to our editor Freddie del Curatolo, author of the book "Nairobi" (OGzero - Orizzonti geopolitici) who will talk about the city of contrasts and surprises. Lastly, a look at social issues with Father Kizito Sesana, a Comboni missionary historian, co-founder of the NGO Amani and the Koinonia community, which has given dignity, work and hope to hundreds of street children in the capital, with cooperator Bruna Sironi and Maasai community and women's rights activist Susan Muteleu. During the webinar there will also be space for some videos.
'There is much to discover in this fascinating and multifaceted country, which never ceases to amaze, for better or for worse,' explains organiser Trovato. 'With this short webinar we will cast our spotlights on Kenya and its capital: an economic hub, a political centre, a regional hi-tech hub, the headquarters of humanitarian agencies and large multinationals, but also a network of slums of sheet metal, a breeding ground for social marginalisation and petty crime. We will discover that there is no better vantage point than Kenya to analyse the challenges that will determine the future of the entire African continent'.
Registration for the webinar is free, subject to availability.
