Tourism in Kenya, Europe opens, Italy not yet

New rules coming but not much is going to change

02-12-2020 by Leni Frau

On the eve of the new Prime Ministerial Decree in Italy, Europe is divided on holidays abroad, towards the tropical sun and sea destinations of its citizens.
While on the one hand the diktat of Brussels would be unchanged since last July and provides the possibility of travel for tourism only within the Schengen area and beyond gives the possibility to travel only for work, study, volunteering or transfer to the "second home", on the other hand in fact each State decides to apply the decree, which among the "banished" countries also includes Kenya (but not Rwanda and Tunisia, in Africa).
Thus Italy is one of the very few countries that still comply with European directives, together with Spain and Belgium.
In fact, since last October, Germany has granted its citizens the possibility to travel anywhere in the 160 countries of the world, even for tourism, while generally discouraging any movement. But advising is very different from forbidding, so focusing on the great demand of those who want to enjoy a warm Christmas, the charter company Condor has reopened its bookings and flights, starting next December 18 to Maldives and Santo Domingo.
A possible news of flights to Mombasa is also expected.
France also opens but strongly advises against it, but Macron has been stricter than its colleague Merkel in warning travel agencies and tour operators to reopen to holidays around the world.
At the limit, everyone in Tunisia is very happy.
We don't believe that the new DPCM can change things in Italy, especially with regard to quarantine on return, but it seems that the ASLs are averting the presentation of a private tampon on arrival in Italy. As if to say, semi-freedom on return from Kenya costs around 120 Euros.
