"Azzurra", third parody of Festival di Sardegna Due

The amusing story of an old loverman in Malindi

12-06-2021 by redazione

And we have arrived at the third chapter of our Festival of parodies about Italians in Kenya, linked to a competition in which ten activities linked to tourism in Malindi and Watamu enthusiastically participated. There could have been many more, but the prizes to be awarded were precisely 10, because they were linked to the number of songs in the competition. From the 31st of May until the 30th of July, every Saturday there will be an additional song whose lyrics have been adapted to describe one of the grotesque, amusing and clearly extreme aspects of our compatriots' approach to the African country that so many of us love.
This Saturday, it is the turn of a well-filled category of compatriots who travel to the Kenyan coast to enjoy the last remnants of the good life, relax and find serenity with perhaps the comfort of retirement and warming their creaking bones in the sun like chops on the grill.
These are the people of the elderly, and in the specific case of the parody of "Azzurro", the very famous song written by Paolo Conte and brought to success by Adriano Celentano, we are talking about those men who are well past their prime and who, once in Kenya, feel their senses awaken.
All the senses, even if one of them, due to age and aches and pains, works a little less...
So here is "Azzurra", the story of an irrepressible old man who does not want to give up and cannot wait to return to Kenya to devote himself to a passion that has never been tamed.
It is, as the Poet would say, that "passion that often leads to satisfying one's own cravings" and that in Kenya often finds free, willing women with a liver that is directly proportional to the emptiness of their stomachs and their wallets.
But the amusing (and totally made-up) song does not point the finger at social or moral implications, it is just a snapshot of what happens in a place where for some holidaymakers blue is not just the colour of the fantastic equatorial sky.
As always, in wishing you a good listen, we refer you to the Freddie and Sbringo parody competition with which we have chosen to cheer you up at the beginning of the summer, expecting many of you to have your arms open by the end of 2021.
To get a free ticket for the virtual lottery to which the songs will be matched, all you have to do is watch the video on the youtube channel and leave a comment under it, possibly by subscribing to the Tele Esule channel. You can do this under every single song and you will have more chances to win.
Here is the direct link to subscribe to the Youtube channel.

And finally... by Conte - Freddoleandro - Sbraobab... "AZZURRA". Sings CIELO ANZIANO.
GOOD LISTENING!
