Jacaranda Bay in Watamu revive with longer season

Interview to Daniele Tiritò, GM Jacaranda Resort

25-01-2022 by Freddie del Curatolo

After more than a year of forced closure, Watamu's Jacaranda Bay has come back to life with tourism, breathing and making many families of the employees of the resort that more than others has bet on the hot season on the Kenyan coast.
The Jacaranda Resort reopened its doors last December 8 and has lived a festive period at full capacity, thanks to a marketing focused on local tourism and European tourism outside Italy, that is directed to countries that have not closed to travel in Kenya.
This allowed the structure to remain open even after the very high season and to be able to host weekly tourists from the Czech Republic, who arrive with charters to Mombasa, and also French, a rarity in these parts in past years.
To these are added the Italian daredevils, waiting for something to change from February.
We talked about it with the General Manager of Jacaranda Resort, Daniele Tiritò, who illustrated marketing strategies and projects, analyzing the delicate moment of hospitality in Kenya, which, however, finally sees glimmers of light and will reward those who in the meantime, gritting their teeth and tightening their belts, are prepared to improve and internationalize their offer.
