Suggestive, supporting tourism and saving for the traffic of Mombasa, even if difficult to realize.
The project for a railroad that unites the tourist towns of Diani and Malindi exists and is part of the first electoral manifesto, in the section dedicated to the coast.
The project has been temporarily put aside for the second time in view of the second fundraising for the elections, those that Odinga and allies believe should deliver the country into their hands.
The reason for the provisioning is explained in the columns of The Star: the Diani-Malindi Complementary Railway was part of that series of infrastructures proposed by the Kenyan billionaire (and kikuyu) Jimmy Wanjigi, who for personal interests sponsored the election campaign of the ODM and NASA and asked in exchange, according to the newspaper, for a series of works and strategies between public and private.
Two railway implementations were also included among these, Diani-Malindi and Mombasa-Voi.
