The tourism industry on the Kenyan coast is currently working hard to ensure that the pandemic situation in Kenya does not affect August tourism in the resorts and there is a good chance that the requests to the governments will be taken into account.
Despite the increase in cases and percentages, which can be seen in the Ministry of Tourism's bulletins and which, as far as Kilifi is concerned, have been confirmed by Governor Amason Kingi in recent days, there is optimism that holidays in Kenya for all those who can afford them, given the bans of certain countries on tourism in 'Fascia E' countries, will be perfect from the point of view of safety and that the current restrictions will not be changed much. One can therefore safely leave for Malindi or Watamu, subject to the conditions and exceptions indicated by our Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as long as Kenya quietly accepts travellers from any European nation.
The situation is therefore under control and more updates are expected in the coming hours, but certainly those who have in mind Kenya for August, its beaches and its safaris, should be optimistic: the tourism industry operators are doing everything possible to make the August holidays the best possible, consistent with a period certainly not easy for travel.
On the contrary, the opportunities on the ground and the desire of the local population to return to the beauty, tranquillity and opportunities that this land offers at 360 degrees, are a guarantee that, with any minor changes to the virus containment measures, the August holidays will still be preserved. We hope that as soon as possible all the other clauses that keep so many compatriots away from their beloved Kenya, first and foremost the return quarantine, will also be released.
In this sense, in addition to the parliamentary questions already presented by the representatives of the Democratic Party, which we have reported in recent days, was also added to that of the parliamentarians of 'Fratelli d'Italia' who want the possibility for residents and non-residents to be able to use the Green Pass without other restrictions, to travel to any destination in the world among those popular for Italians and so far denied or discouraged.
