Roberto Natali is the new Italian Ambassador to Kenya

The diplomat arrived in Nairobi for his new assignment

14-09-2022 by Freddie del Curatolo

Roberto Natali is the new Italian Ambassador to Kenya. The diplomat, born in L'Aquila in 1958, arrived in Nairobi on Monday to take over from outgoing Ambassador Alberto Pieri, who is at the end of his term.
"I start my term as Ambassador in Nairobi confident that we will build an excellent collaboration with Kenya and Seychelles in the wake of the friendship between our peoples," Natali said, as reported by the social channels of the Farnesina. "I will also enhance Italy's multilateral action at UNEP and UNHABITAT. I greet Italian citizens and businesses: the Embassy is at their disposal'.
Natali has held positions of prestige and responsibility in his career since 1989. In 1993 in Helsinki, he followed Finland's accession process to the European Union, and in 2001 he was in Washington as the first Press and Information Advisor, handling media relations in the delicate years following the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, in conjunction with the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. He was also responsible for promoting Italian culture in the United States. In September 2005, he was appointed Consul General in Barcelona. After several years in Rome holding important posts at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Roberto Natali became Ambassador of Italy to the Kingdom of Morocco in 2013. In 2014, he was also appointed Ambassador of Italy to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

The editorial staff of the Portal of Italians in Kenya Malindikenya.net and the social pages of "Italians in Kenya" greet the arrival of the new Ambassador and congratulate him on his appointment, wishing him well in his work, and at the same time make themselves available in the wake of the useful and fruitful collaboration with his predecessors. Karibu!
