Tourism from Italy to Kenya, all postponed

Ban and isolation up to 25th october

30-08-2021 by redazione

Two more months of passion for tourists who would like to travel to or return to Kenya.
The order issued by the Italian Ministry of Health does not actually change anything regarding transfers and returns from foreign countries in band E and postpones any updates until 25 October 2021.
One small step forward that might give some hope for the winter season is the removal of quarantine for people from countries in list D, i.e. those immediately above Kenya and other African countries with Green Passes.
It was expected that the Green Pass could also be used beneficially to return without quarantine from other countries, but this is not the case. The distinction remains.
As written in the statement, published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "people from countries on list D can enter Italy by presenting a green pass, a negative test carried out in the previous 72 hours (48 in the case of entry from the UK) and Passenger Locator Form; otherwise, they will have to perform 5 days of mini-quarantine and undergo testing at the end of the isolation. People coming from Canada, Japan and the United States of America can enter Italy by presenting a green pass (or certification issued by the local health authorities following a vaccination validated by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), a negative test carried out within the previous 72 hours and a Passenger Locator Form".
In addition to exceptions for Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, while ignoring countries such as Kenya, the government reopened entry from Brazil, which was taboo, with testing on arrival and 10-day isolation.
Meanwhile, the pressure from tourism operators to open a "covid free" corridor for tourists with green passes in Kenya continues. But after the ordinance that will be effective from today, the date for any change that will make lovers of Africa smile seems to be postponed to 25 October.
