Beware of the fake ETA to come to Kenya!

Reports for an unofficial and more expensive site

They did it.
It was thought that after the transition from the online visa (evisa) to the new electronic travel authorisation (eTA), in force in Kenya since last January, there would be an end to the endless series of bogus sites and agencies posing as the official Kenyan government site for issuing entry permits to Kenya.
Instead, this is not the case and we are receiving more and more complaints or ‘mea culpas’ from travellers who have stumbled upon a fake eTA site, promising entry to Kenya for 80 euros.
At best, if authorisation is granted, it is in fact an agency disguised as a real Kenyan government site (complete with links to YouTube videos of President Ruto and other references, starting with the image of Mount Kenya) and with the option of Italian language too.
The address in question is etakenya.com
But since it is an unofficial site, because the eTA would have to be filled in by those directly involved, it is not certain that there will be any problems, apart from the certainty of having paid 50 euros more, given that the eTA currently costs 30 euros plus transaction taxes.

We therefore remind our readers that the only website authorised to issue the electronic travel authorisation that will entitle you to travel to Kenya and, once you disembark in Nairobi or Mombasa to get a tourist visa, is the following:
etakenya.go.ke
Happy Kenya, and always be very careful online.
