Evening for Italians in Kenya on the 23rd in Milan

Event in the theatre with a performance by Freddie and Sbringo

08-05-2023 by Leni Frau

'Italians in Kenya, Italians outside Kenya and Italians with Kenya in their hearts'.
With this 'catchphrase' our director Freddie del Curatolo often opens his video reports on the Youtube channel of the Italians' portal from the most loved and frequented locations in the African country that is so dear to us, but also from the most remote corners worthy of being discovered or told about.
In his brief blitz in Italy this May (with participation in the Turin Book Fair, which we will tell you about in the next few days), Freddie reunited with his musical companion Marco 'Sbringo' Bigi, with whom until a few weeks ago he organised a series of successful evenings between Malindi and Watamu to present the songs contained in the album 'Once upon a time there were Italians in Kenya', part of the proceeds of which go to the Karibuni non-profit organisation for its fantastic and essential food support project in the Malindi hinterland.
So it is natural to think of a date in Milan, where the 'Sickness of Africa' flavoured show is combined with stories, poetry, suggestions and even a short introduction to the book 'Nairobi'.
Between the celebrated "Turisti, dove siete finiti?" and "Baridi Sana", the poetic monologues and Maestro Sbringo's musical versatility, there will of course be no lack of other surprises, recounting and evoking the "places of the soul", with all their implications.
An evening to catch up with the aforementioned "Italians in Kenya" and perhaps meet some new ones, among the loyal readers of malindikenya.net, the fans who have been humming Freddie and Sbringo's songs since last year, the supporters of Karibuni Onlus, the friends who, if it goes well, meet once a year, and other lovers of Africa and life.
The unique and unrepeatable event will be staged on TUESDAY 23 MAY at 8.30 p.m. at the Andrea Villa Theatre (Teatribù) in Milan, in via Agordat 32, Viale Padova area (800 metres from the MM Cimiano). Admission is free (minimum € 10) and as always part of the proceeds will go to Karibuni.
IMPORTANT: The theatre has limited places, so it is essential to book for the evening for a fundamental reason: if you arrive without booking, you might not find a place (and if you don't have a place, you can't enter the theatre).
HOW TO BOOK: Send a text message to 3381588145 with your first and last name(s). Those who do not arrive in time will be put on a waiting list and two days before the performance we will check and, if necessary, notify the first ones on the list.
I RECOMMEND: If you make a reservation and then change your mind, or there are impediments or changes in the number of reserved seats, ALERT US so that we can include those who may have been left out. Also because an empty seat means one less meal for the young Langobaya students!

For any further information, you can call or write to the number above or Whatsapp at +254717067198, or email info@malindikenya.net
Needless to say, WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU!!!
