FREDDIE'S CORNER
12-04-2024 by Freddie del Curatolo
I wish to make bricks my future
redemption of life beyond the mud
and not another unknown wall
that divides the suburbs in which I remain
and make my present even harder
I would like houses where people rest
smiling at fate and fatigue
not torture rooms for the bride
in which the evening becomes the enemy
alcohol and hatred steal everything
Cement that brings people together
not contracts of corrupt men
who spread with good intentions
quicklime on our broken bodies
kicking away hopes and passion
From the bricks my pride will be formed
Sitting here not to feel lost
With dreams I will write on a paper
Ready to be a different young man
The day when "I wish" becomes "I want"
