KENYAN TALENT

Hassan Duba, beauty and resourcefulness 'made in Kenya'

The success story of the model influencer from Isiolo

06-09-2023 by Freddie del Curatolo

In the arid moors of Isiolo, north of Kenya where the green slopes of Mount Kenya have already given way to the most boundless savannah, on the road to Lake Turkana, life is not easy for anyone.
When you are a young man and have ambitions, you want nothing more than to leave that planet of dust and stones, of low bushes and stunted grass where goats and cows graze. It is the land where you were born and where you have your affections, but if there is only one chance to change your life and improve the lives of your loved ones as well, it is by leaving. Study, apply yourself, try.

If you are a beautiful girl maybe it is easier to find some open doors, but it can also be more frustrating, dangerous, misleading.
Her name is Hassan Duba, she is 27 years old and was born in Isiolo, where she studied until she came of age and already as a teenager discovered a passion for fashion and elegance and armed with a camera, began to be followed on social media, as is normal for her generation.
Telling her vision of beauty with an eye-catching and original style, Hassan quickly conquered the world of social media and fashion, leaving a lasting impact on millions of followers.

So in just a few years, she became an icon in the UAE, participated in Miss Universe and was acclaimed as one of the most beautiful women in Dubai, so much so that she earned covers in fashion magazines and invitations to prestigious events such as Dubai Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week and DXB Fashion Week, her influence quickly spreading beyond national borders.
From that point on, some models stop, basking in the albeit strenuous life of the catwalk, thinking about cachet and luxury, or that of influencer, merely cultivating her followers to the tune of sponsorship and click revenue, wiggling and pursing her lips on yachts and in five-star hotel pools.

Duda is not one of those, perhaps because she has childhood in Isiolo and an entrepreneurial spirit in her blood, so she created her own brand to produce beauty creams and is dedicated to helping others.
As a philanthropist, she was recognized by the Nelson Mandela African Leadership Institute for her contributions to education in Africa. Finally, she enrolled in business school at none other than Harvard University.
According to the trade press, the Kenyan girl is a fashion icon and at the same time a "pioneer in the digital world" and she uses her platform "to advocate for inclusivity and body positivity."

Through her posts and videos, she inspires her followers to embrace their uniqueness and celebrate diversity in all its forms.
Despite her enormous success, Hassan remains firmly grounded in her roots. She often uses her influence to shed light on the challenges faced by her hometown and works to empower Isiolo's young creatives.
Her story is not just glamour and fame; it is a testament to the power of determination, resilience, and the pursuit of dreams.
