Since the last appeal on 20 January, only 23 readers have joined the 100 who have subscribed, for various reasons and with amounts fluctuating between 5 and 120 euros, a sort of "virtual subscription" to the Portal of Italians in Kenya, certifying their affection for the service that for 13 years has kept them in daily contact with the places they love most, frequent or in which they have interests or simply beautiful memories.
As we have already said several times, our work is the result of a daily commitment that, with the lack of tourism and immediate prospects, has lost most of its sustenance.
Before the pandemic, Malindikenya.net had become the main source of income for me, Freddie del Curatolo and my collaborator and wife Leni.
From the statistics we are able to consult, we can see that there are many of you readers (about 4000 regular readers who read us almost every day) and this gives us the strength to continue, but unfortunately this strength does not translate into salary.
We therefore ask the 2800 or so who have not yet sent a little help to Malindikenya.net to do so, if they really believe that the Portal of Italians in Kenya can continue its activities.
We know that, like us, many of you are in a problematic situation during the pandemic, and therefore we understand the difficulty in collecting even a few euros to give us a hand.
We hope that we can all pull together and smile about this.
