Stop new Children Charitable Istitutions in Kenya

No more registration by the government to orfanages

No more orphanages in Kenya.
The decision comes from the Minister of the East African Community, Labour and Social Protection of Kenya, Phyllis Kandie.
In an official document, the Minister announced that the suspension of registrations for Charitable Children Institutions is in fact enforceable and will continue indefinitely, i. e. until certain issues concerning the protection and safety of children and their families have been resolved.
In fact, it is well known that in Kenya, in almost all those we call "orphanages", most of the little guests actually have parents or relatives who could look after them, but choose a more comfortable situation for them and less expensive for many families who struggle to grow up their little ones.
However, the Ministry's note states that the conditions of assistance and the prerequisites for these centres to operate are no longer met.
But above all, the decision was taken after verifying that some of these alleged orphanages are involved in various types of unclear and illegitimate conduct, such as child trafficking.
In the Kenyan news, in fact, it often happens to witness the closure of a "Children Center" precisely because it does not respect its functions, or because it turns out to be a sort of "mirror for larks" to attract donations and make interest and money flow.
Our portal has been working for ten years now to dissuade anyone who wants to do good in Kenya from opening or leaning on an orphanage.
There are many more socially relevant and useful variants in the field of solidarity.
Helping a school and improving the conditions of attendance, providing food and other facilities is certainly more deserving.
Also because the goal number one should be to allow these children to grow up in the family or in their natural habitat, teaching them to respect it, improving living conditions and involving adults in this process.
