Matoke (green bananas) with meat

Matoke" or "matoki" are green bananas that are not excessively sweet, which also in Kenya, as in most parts of Africa, have various uses. In addition to flour and bread, they are used as potatoes in stews.

Supu ya nyama na matoke

Ingredients for 4 people::  Persons

300 gg of cubed beef
2 or 3 matoke (depending on the size) peeled and cut into two or three pieces.
Chopped tomato.
Chopped onion.
Spinach or mchicha
Ginger 
Garlic paste
Turmeric Powder
Powder cumin
Salt qb
Ground black pepper

PREPARATION: PREPARATION

In a pot add all ingredients except spinach and banana.
Cover with a little water and boil until halfway through the cooking of the meat, then add the peeled and cut bananas. 
If necessary, add more water to the soup.
Continue cooking until meat and bananas are soft.
Finally add spinach and salt.

It is usually served with chapati.
