Love and eat!
This could be the slogan, in style with Italian current affairs, for the Valentine's Day of Italians on the coast of Kenya. What could be better, to celebrate the feast of lovers in a dream location, than toasting while enjoying one or more specialities of the Indian Ocean or African land, perhaps cooked according to Italian tradition or mixed with some essential ingredients from home?
And when the usual punctilious people who dot the ipsilon object 'why eat Italian food when you can do without it?', we can answer: what would a seafood salad be without extra virgin olive oil? This is just one of many examples we can give.
In any case, Italian restaurants, which do not disdain Swahili and international recipes on their menus, not only offer their dishes at their best for Valentine's Day, but also prepare for romantic and atmospheric evenings.

The waterfront restaurant in Malindi, in addition to its offerings of Italian and international cuisine, for Valentine's Day evening offers a special menu with extemporaneous creations and special dishes born from the passion and talent at the stove of the hostess. Smoked salmon and squid tempura among the appetizers and lobster risotto or pasta "in terracotta" among the first course proposals.

OLIMPIA BEACH CLUB
On Valentine's Day, Olimpia in Casuarina never forgets to pay homage to women with a red rose and to offer a mignon of sparkling wine to each one. The highlight of the evening is the aphrodisiac oysters, both au naturel and au gratin, which are exclusive to the Malindian club. For the rest, an à la carte menu with a wide choice of pasta, fish and meat dishes, as well as delicious pizza baked in the special wood-fired oven of the restaurant's own production.

A special set-up on one of the most enchanting beaches on the Kenyan coast. ROSADA BEACH
At Rosada, the club in Malindi famous for its Monday and Friday beach parties, Valentine's Day is celebrated at midnight, i.e. one hour after the start of the Monday party, with a glass of wine offered by the house after the first two purchases.
For the rest, the Monday evening on Silversand beach needs no introduction: disco party starting after dinner (with an à la carte menu from 7pm). Until 2 a.m. there is barefoot dancing on the beach. Admission to the disco is free for women, men Kes 500.
