Micaela sold everything to help children in Likoni

Former adv manager now is a volunteer in Kenya

He left Italy and his job as an advertiser, to work in a "children center" on the Kenyan coast and build a dormitory for children.
This is the story of Micaela De Gregorio, an advertising agent from Monza, who after a dismissal and a few unsuccessful interviews, decided to sell her studio apartment and move to Kenya. Fortyfive years old, a degree in communication and a series of more or less satisfying jobs in the province of Milan, from web consultant to call center operator.
Then the decision to give up everything and sell her only property, the only western security, to dedicate herself to others independently.
Now she lives in Shelly Beach, not far from Likoni's slum, where she is helping a Ngo to run the Child of Mercy orphanage and, with part of the proceeds from the sale of her Italian home, to build a dormitory for the 45 children who are 3 to 17 years old.
"I have chosen to help these children and accompany them to grow up, making them go at least as far as college, hopefully university. But my little studio apartment can't do everything," explains the girl from Brianza to the newspaper Il Giorno.
Micaela's story is that of many young and less young Italians who have chosen not only to change their lives, but to courageously face a challenge by helping those less fortunate, without having infinite resources.
