Luxury Savannah, Ritz-Carlton opens in Masai Mara

The American Brand bets on Kenya

Following Virgin boss Richard Branson's futuristic Mahali mzuri lodge and the announcement of a JW Marriott resort, the Ritz-Carlton is now coming to the Masai Mara.
The luxury hotel brand has announced the construction of an ‘exclusive retreat’ near the border between Kenya and Tanzania, in the heart of the national reserve. A lodge ‘set to redefine the luxury safari experience in one of Africa's most iconic wilderness areas’, as the chain itself describes it.
The Ritz-Carlton Masai Mara Safari Camp in the savannah is scheduled to open next August.
The camp will feature 20 elegantly designed suites, including a spacious four-bedroom Presidential Family Suite, combining elegance and adventure. Each suite has a private outdoor terrace, a private pool and dedicated butler service, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the breathtaking surroundings from the comfort of their own retreat.
‘We are ready to usher in a new era of luxury hospitality in Kenya with the highly anticipated opening of the brand's first luxury safari camp,’ said The Ritz-Carlton.

On the banks of the Sand River, just a stone's throw from the border between Kenya and Tanzania, the property will offer guests the chance to witness the Great Migration, one of nature's most incredible events, which attracts thousands of tourists, particularly from the United States, where Ritz-Carlton already has a significant client portfolio. ‘At The Ritz-Carlton, we believe in the power of travel to transform not only places, but also people,’ said Helen Leighton, Vice President of Luxury Brand. ’The Masai Mara is one of the most spectacular destinations in the world, and we are thrilled to introduce The Ritz-Carlton's first safari experience and our hospitality to this exclusive setting. Each guest will enjoy a tailor-made adventure, built around their own idea of the perfect safari. From breathtaking wildlife encounters to personalised service in the heart of the savannah, every moment is designed to inspire and fill them with a sense of wonder that will stay with them long after they leave.’
