App to avoid traffic jam and other road problems in Kenya

Developed by Safaricom in partnership with Google

23-02-2021 by redazione

As of today, a new free application is working in Kenya to receive real-time information on traffic and all warnings about road conditions, works in progress, detours and accidents.
It is called Dubbed Waze and was developed by Safaricom in partnership with Google. Its strength is that it is constantly updated by the community, a sort of "wikipedia" of the road with many functions.
What makes this app so much more efficient than others is its rich database of information that can be consulted in real time on the screen using special symbols. Thanks to efficient graphics, it is possible to monitor entire areas and their arterial roads and understand where there are problems, as well as reporting accidents very quickly, allowing those in the same direction to change their route. However, information is not only provided according to the route chosen.
The app - and here we will have to see whether this is a good thing or not - is also designed to indicate the presence of roadblocks or police checkpoints and speed cameras, as well as having a function that indicates fuel prices at the various service stations.
Obviously, the app has been designed so that you don't have to use your mobile phone while driving, so thanks to Google Voice systems for Android and Mac, it will receive voice instructions and respond accordingly.
