Hell's Gate National Park in Naivasha was closed until a date to be determined.
This is the decision taken jointly by the local authorities and the Ministry of Tourism after the tragedy that Sunday afternoon cost the lives of seven people in the Ol-Jorowa Gully, one of the famous canyons that have always been one of the tourist attractions of the park.
The rains of these days, however, in addition to making it difficult to search for and recover the bodies of tourists of Indian origin who were trapped by the mud and drowned, are the main reason for the suspension.
In the meantime, an investigation has been opened into possible liability. Lighthouses were set on the Kenya Wildlife Service and on the decision to carry out excursions in the canyon despite the precedents of a few years ago.
