The Italian Cultural Institute of Nairobi celebrates the Day of Italian Design in the World with two appointments in as many universities in Kenya, with the theme "Re-generation. Design and new technologies for a sustainable future".
For the annual appointment with the thematic review promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, dedicated to the world of design and architecture, today from 9.30 am at the University of Embu and with the possibility of connecting via live zoom, will talk about start-up, entrepreneurship and creative industry with practices related to common paths between Italy and Kenya.
There will be two designers who have been running a successful small business for some time now, processing baobab products and making mainly high-end furniture items out of them.
The Italian Roberto Gerosa and his Italian-Argentinean wife Fabiana Alcojor of "Seedlings Design" based in Kilifi, will be present to tell how they deal with home deco with environmental sustainability in mind.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 23rd March, Kenyatta University, together with the Italian Embassy in Kenya and the IIC, will host the second meeting celebrating Italian design and the collaborations between Kenya and Italy in this sector with the conference entitled "Design and new technologies for a sustainable future", during which Seedling Designs will be joined by another Italian company, Ohoskin. Both will present their experience in the fields of design and sustainability.
