Everything is ready in Casuarina to asphalt the first kilometre of the road that will take you to the fishing village of Mayungu and from there, shortly afterwards, through the Malaika Beach resort, Jacaranda Bay and finally Watamu.
For the time being, the construction contract involves two kilometres of asphalt, but there are already funds (of a Chinese company) to continue at least until Mayungu.
In the meantime, the next stretch should also be widened and beaten, up to the Jacaranda Resort and the fork that leads to the Malindi-Mombasa state highway and, proceeding straight ahead, after another 4.5 km to Watamu.
This is one of the projects that Malindi and Watamu have been promoting for years, as well as those who have invested in Mayungu, in order to make the maritime destination a whole and be more competitive, as well as joining the two tourist realities in a safer and faster way and creating a third pole, Mayungu, with a fantastic sea and many opportunities for development.
