Starting next week, the high-speed train line between Nairobi and Mombasa will have an additional route.
The express service will start on Wednesday, November 1 from both Nairobi and Mombasa at 3.30 pm.
Kenya Railways Corporation currently has only one morning return trip scheduled, but has reached such a high number of admissions and bookings that it has chosen to add a second train.
Since 1 July, when Madaraka Express was inaugurated, there has been a growing influx of passengers, despite the difficulties of booking. In any case, the ticket price and the time-to-modality ratio were right in the end.
The SGR is a more than happy alternative to the plane and of course the coach, with a journey time of 4? hours.
The new train will make stops at each of the seven intermediate stations: Mariakani, Miasenyi, Voi, Mtito Andei, Kibwezi, Emali and Athi River.
The company confirms that it will be possible to purchase tickets previously through an SMS service.
