Tuesday reentry flights for italians in Kenya

Here's the tweet of Italian Embassy with dates

29-03-2020 by redazione

The Embassy of Italy in Kenya has just communicated dates and modalities of the return flight for Italian tourists remaining in Kenya and possibly also for AIRE registered residents.
The flight organized by the charter company NEOS will depart from Mombasa on Tuesday, March 31 at 14.00.
The Neos boeing will also make a stopover in Nairobi at 3pm and then travel directly to Milan Malpensa, final destination.
Obviously the fever screening will be done and whoever is found with suspicious symptoms will be made to stay on the ground and will not be able to undertake the trip.
However, not all seats will be available because of the obligation to keep distances between passengers.
Also for this reason, according to reliable rumours and comparisons with other similar operations for fellow citizens in other countries, the ticket price will be higher than expected.
Reservations will be possible from tomorrow morning, Monday 30 March, at the Neos booking portal. The official cost will be communicated there.
It is worth repeating that all those who have sent the forms previously downloaded from the Embassy website, as was requested two weeks ago and have received the reply via an e-mail from the offices of our representation in Nairobi are not automatically booked for the flight, but it was essential to have a data of all fellow citizens ready to return to the country to organize the flight and any subsequent programs.
Here is the full text reported by the Embassy website.

For compatriots who are temporarily in Kenya and who have absolute urgency to return to Italy, in particular for those who have seen their return flight cancelled due to restrictions on air connections, the Italian company NEOS, on the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Nairobi, is organizing an extraordinary flight that will leave next Tuesday, March 31, 2020 from Mombasa airport and will stop in Nairobi to Milan Malpensa. Here are the details of the flight:
- 31 March 2020: Mombasa-Nairobi: departure at 14.00 and arrival at 15.00.
- March 31, 2020: Nairobi-Milan Malpensa: departure at 16.40 and arrival on April 1 at 23.30.
The flight can be booked from tomorrow Monday 30 March on the website of the airline NEOS, at the following link: https://www.neosair.it/
It is recommended, if available, to travel with a protective mask. More information on precautions and behaviour can be found at: https://www.neosair.it/it/coronavirus
INFORMATION ON WHO CAN LEGITIMATELY RETURN TO ITALY AND RESTRICTIVE MEASURES FOR THOSE WHO RETURN TO ITALY
Attention is drawn to the indications of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, following the very recent Ordinance of the Minister of Health in agreement with the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport on the precautionary measures to be followed by those who return to Italy from abroad, which can be consulted at the following link: https://www.esteri.it/mae/it/ministero/normativaonline/decreto-iorestoacasa-domande-frequenti/focus-cittadini-italiani-in-rientro-dall-estero-e-cittadini-stranieri-in-italia.html
In particular, it is to be considered legitimate to return as a matter of absolute urgency. Therefore, for example, the return of Italian citizens or foreigners resident in Italy who are abroad on a temporary basis (for tourism, business or other) is allowed. It is also allowed the return to Italy of Italian citizens forced to leave the foreign country where they were working or studying (because, for example, they have been dismissed, have lost their home, their course of study has been permanently interrupted).
Please note that the reasons of absolute urgency must be declared, under their own responsibility, in the appropriate self-declaration, available at the following link https://www.esteri.it/mae/resource/doc/2020/03/nuovo_modello_autodichiarazione_26.03.2020_editabile.pdf
It is recommended to prepare and print it in several copies before departure.
For the sake of completeness of information, it should be noted that failure to comply with the measures laid down is punishable by criminal and administrative penalties. Further information on the measures adopted by the Government and the sanctions provided for in the event of violation is available at the following link http://www.governo.it/it/faq-iorestoacasa
The above mentioned Order of the Ministry of Health, in agreement with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, has also imposed a series of precautionary measures on carriers embarking passengers bound for Italy from abroad, including the maintenance of adequate safety distances between passengers (at least one metre) for all moments of the journey, which will result in a reduction in the number of seats available and an increase in the fare on the return flight.
For information on the fare for the flight in question, also fixed on the basis of the above measures, please consult the aforementioned NEOS website.
In light of the above, the Embassy of Italy will be grateful for the cooperation of everyone in order to allow the return flight to those who really have absolute urgency, in compliance with the measures to contain the coronavirus in place in our country, and remains available to provide assistance, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for those who are unable to return with the aforementioned flight.
