EVENT CANCELLED DUE TO POSSIBLE RESTRICTIONS COMING UP! A festival of music and entertainment with an Italian imprint is preparing to invade the beaches of the coast and some of the best venues overlooking the Indian Ocean, starting from the beautiful location of Watamu, at the Mapango Bar & Restaurant of the Lily Palm Resort, where the tour will start on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28, with two special days.
This is the Beachland Festival, an idea of Afterego, an event organisation and artistic and record management company founded by three Roman entrepreneurs and already known for organising events in the best Italian and European beach clubs.
This year, thanks to the pandemic, the Beachland festival is taking shape in Africa, moving from scenarios such as Ibiza, Sardinia and others to the coast of Kenya.
The Beachland Festival Tour is made up of experienced Italian DJs who will alternate from week to week, joined by a few local DJs from various backgrounds.
At the Lily Palm, Roman deejay Federico Moore will be at the bridge, with Shalil and local cymbal talent Youniverse. In the Mapango setting, on Saturday, there will also be a large barbecue of meat and fish and the drink service will be guaranteed for the entire duration of the event, opening at 3pm until 9pm, due to the Covid-19 restrictions still in place.
"The idea," explains Afterego's manager for East Africa Antonio Fortunato, "is to organise, for four consecutive weeks a year and with a fixed frequency, events with a musical background, offering Italian and international artists in locations such as clubs, beach bars, boats (boat parties) and resorts or, in any case, in locations that lend themselves to such situations. An entrepreneurial project, which can only please local businessmen, club, beach bar, boat or resort managers, and, last but not least, event and public relations structures".
At Mapango, moreover, on Saturday afternoon there will be a live radio broadcast with the Italian network RTL, thanks to the collaboration with film producer and influencer Daniele Di Lorenzo, who will bring other great news to Lily Palm for the next season.
After Watamu, the Beachland Festival Tour continues with three dates in Malindi over Easter, two in Mombasa the following weekend, followed by Kilifi and Diani.
Tickets are already available on the "Turnapp" app or will be on site.
