The holidays are approaching, and even in Kenya it's time for Christmas markets.
In Nairobi, specifically in the Karen area, the event space and lounge of the Italian restaurant Matteo's presents its intriguing market on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the Christmas atmosphere while offering an exciting weekend for the whole family at the restaurant, bar and event space.
It will be a classic pre-Christmas fair, with stalls offering not only food products but also local crafts and imaginative decorations, as well as accessories and clothing, for those looking for a special gift or just browsing. The aroma of mulled wine and other delicious delicacies will whet your appetite, and you can sip special cocktails and sample tasty dishes from the restaurant. There will also be live music and various activities for children. There are two events to book: the decoration of the traditional “Gingerbread House” on both Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (bookings on Tel. 0718283233, limited places) and the arrival of Santa Claus with gifts for the little ones, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Matteo's Christmas Market, in Karen, Ngong Rd at the Karen Road Junction, is this weekend, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is Kes. 500 for adults and Kes. 200 for children. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to charity.
