Here is a date for those who want to have a laugh, listen to good music, irony, poetry and the real thing.
The first chance of the year to attend Malindi's entertaining presentation of Freddie and Sbringo's new record "Once Upon a Time There Were Italians in Kenya" is confirmed for next Thursday, Jan. 5, at 6:30 p.m. at Malaika Malindi Restaurant. Admission is free in the new lounge space, but you can also make reservations for dinner to follow or have an aperitif in the Malaika's ice cream bar.
It will be an opportunity to listen live to the best-known songs of the duo that tells between the serious and the facetious the vicissitudes of our compatriots struggling with the African country. A "story of love and bad weather" that has lasted more or less for half a century. There will be something for everyone, recounting anecdotes, paradoxes, distortions but also the generosity, intellectual honesty and passions of so many Italians who have chosen Kenya as their second or even first home.
Among others, we will hear "Baridi Sana" the song that in its English version is depopulating not only on the Kenyan coast, the ironic "Turisti, ma dove siete finiti?" that pokes fun at the certainties and questions of Italians on vacation in Kenya, and many others. After the success with audiences and laughter of the first two events, Malaika's evening is not to be missed!
