Going on stage tonight, Saturday, March 4, at Olimpia Beach Club in Malindi, is the last of the seasonal shows of Freddie and Sbringo's show titled "Once Upon a Time There Were Italians in Kenya," which is based on the songs contained in the album of the same name released last November and part of the proceeds from the venues will go to the food support project for students in the Malindi hinterland run by the Italian nonprofit Karibuni.
In between songs, poetry and a bit of cabaret, Freddie will recount in his own way the arrival of the first Italians in Kenya at the beginning of the last century and the golden era of Malindi at the end of the same, with the evocative musical carpets of Marco "Sbringo" Bigi.
Previous evenings in Malindi and Watamu were very successful, and a full house is expected again this evening.
