Two days of Italian promotion at the Village Market in Nairobi, with the opening day attended by the Ambassador of Italy to Kenya Alberto Pieri, the director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Nairobi Elena Gallenca, and members of Comites, Italian businessmen and professionals residing in Kenya.
The Italian Food & Wine Festival 2022 turned out to be a success, not only for the obvious success of bringing together so many compatriots working in the food and wine and social sectors, but for the response it received from the public, Kenyans above all, who appreciated (and purchased) the products of Italian excellence.
Events like this can only be good for the entire Italian system in Kenya and for our consideration in a country that is growing in many respects, including the cultural one in the area of eating and drinking well. Ambassador Alberto Pieri also pinned this down, officially opening the two days of exhibitions, tastings, music and sharing in Nairobi's commercial center.
Great credit for the success of the event goes to Comites Kenya and the coordination of one of its members, Faustino Trufelli, who is at home at the Village Market, with his delicatessen "Pomodoro" which organized the catering, while the other participants offered tastings, explaining the goodness and meaning of Italian products. Tying the art of Italian food and wine to other hallmarks of our tradition were the musicians. From promising violinist Alice Marini, only 11 years old, who in addition to the national anthems of Kenya and Italy played a suite by Niccolò Paganini, to the saxophone quartet Sikelia, with swing and elegance. 
At the next event, we hope to see not 10 exhibitors, but anyone in Kenya who feels that they are an added value of Italianness and all that it represents commercially, emotionally, culturally and traditionally.
