An evening dedicated to great Italian and international jazz music will bring Nairobi to life on Tuesday 14 July, thanks to an initiative by the Italian Cultural Institute, which is bringing two leading artists from the Italian jazz scene to the stage: pianist and composer Paolo Di Sabatino and singer Alessandra Rossi. The event is scheduled for 6.00 pm at Baraka Opera Kenya – Creative Hub, on the fourth floor of Lavington Mall, where the audience will be treated to a concert featuring some of the most famous Italian songs, international jazz standards and original compositions by Di Sabatino.
One of the most highly regarded pianists, composers and arrangers on the Italian jazz scene, Paolo Di Sabatino trained at the Bari Conservatoire, graduating with diplomas in both piano and jazz. Throughout his career, he has performed at festivals and theatres in Italy and abroad, collaborating with artists of the calibre of Mario Biondi, Paolo Fresu, Enrico Rava, Dave Samuels and Antonella Ruggiero. Alongside his concert career, he has produced numerous albums and publications dedicated to jazz education, as well as teaching jazz piano.
He will be accompanied by Alessandra Rossi, a young singer originally from L’Aquila who, in recent years, has made a name for herself as one of the rising voices of Italian jazz. Among her accolades, her victory in the Advanced category of the Crescendo International Music Competition stands out, which earned her a place in the final at Carnegie Hall in New York.
The concert will feature a repertoire that blends tradition with contemporary sounds, alternating between great Italian classics, international evergreens and original compositions, in a musical dialogue that promises to captivate both jazz enthusiasts and lovers of singer-songwriter music.

Admission is free, but advance registration is required, subject to availability. To attend, please send a request to the email address iicnairobi@esteri.it.
