Yesterday, at the end of another day without electricity and with the firm intention of resisting the purchase of a generator or an inverter powerful enough to run the whole place, and having to respond as always to emails from people asking me if there will be lots of mosquitoes in Kenya in August or if the sea at Watamu will be full of seaweed as they have been told, I felt the urge to write something different, something that tackles hackneyed themes from a new angle, or perhaps one that has been explored before but by someone who wasn't feeling very well.
I don't know how I feel in general, but I've decided that I like Kenya.
