When you come back to Kenya

A world of life ready to embrace you

20-04-2020 by Freddie del Curatolo

When you go back to Kenya, it'll be a good day.
When you go back to Kenya, you will find everything immeasurably more alive, more beautiful, more real.
When you return to Kenya, you will have an endless park overlooking the ocean, made of savannah, forests, mountains, deserts, valleys, lakes, volcanoes, rolling hills, islands and coves.
You will return to Kenya and confirm to yourself that breathing in Africa while savouring the air is something else entirely.
When you return to Kenya you will find so many things you have dreamed of, because Africa changes but can leave your memories intact.
When you return to Kenya you will have distances to enjoy as well as social distances to respect.
When you return to Kenya you will remember that under an enveloping sky the word "isolation" cannot exist, even if there is no one within miles.
You will return to Kenya and the colours, the sunsets, the shades that made you love it and that will never fade away.
When you return to Kenya, this country will be ready to embrace you again with weak limbs, perhaps, but well disposed and ready to regain vigor, because this people always knows how to get up: with a smile.
When you return to Kenya, the fear will not have passed, but Africa will teach you once and for all that it is part of life. The antelopes of Amboseli, the gazelles of the Tsavo, show it to you: if you are afraid to live, you are already dead in departure.
When you return to Kenya, leave at home the plots, the paranoia, the "j'accuse" and every complaint.
You'll go back to Kenya and you'll see that those who have always been used to survive also live here.
You will go back to Kenya, because your heart is asking for it, which wants to start beating to the rhythm of tribal drums.
When you return to Kenya, it will be life for good.
