Dove siamo nel mondo, why it's useful to subscribe

Report your presence in Kenya to institutions

21-02-2023 by redazione

One of the practices that has often proved to be very useful and should become good habits and that Italians almost never do, because they tend to lump everything together is to subscribe to the 'Where are we in the world' website and app.
How to explain this phenomenon of 'telematic hide and seek' that in the event of any problem (recent example, the earthquake in Turkey) signals your presence in the country and in certain areas?
All the more so in the paradox of a people who now do this more or less consciously with Google, iPhones and the like... what does it cost you to tell the institutions that in the end are the ones that can get you out of trouble?
There is certainly a 'forma mentis' that induces thoughts like: "the Viaggiare Sicuri website exaggerates, so Farnesina is not reliable in anything..." or "why do I have to let the State know my c...i...i...i...that is already coming after me with Equitalia?
To then whine and thank the 'angels' who pulled you out of the slime and who are the first to say, as is true and right, that they simply did their job, which in the case of the Farnesina Crisis Unit is certainly not that of Equitalia...

The Crisis Unit is the structure of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation whose task is to assist compatriots and protect Italian interests in crisis situations abroad.

The "Dovesiamonelmondo" portal, also accessible via APP, which offers compatriots the possibility of voluntarily registering their trips abroad, was created because "the constant updating of data on the Italian presence abroad is of fundamental importance for the Crisis Unit: it allows a correct assessment of the exposure of compatriots to the various risk factors in each country, and in individual areas and localities; it helps to plan assistance activities in emergency situations more quickly and accurately" as the site itself reports.

The Crisis Unit has developed a new free APP for smartphones and tablets that integrates all the services of ViaggiareSicuri.it and DovesiamonelMondo.it
The new APP makes use of advanced global mapping resources and offers users travelling abroad the possibility to geolocalise, to receive notifications during transit in the most at-risk areas, real-time updates on dangerous situations, and to confirm their safety following critical events, wherever in the world they occur.

The Unit acts by coordinating the entire network of Italian Embassies and Consulates, on the basis of operational protocols and plans that are defined in advance and constantly updated, taking into account the Italian presence -tourists, residents, businesses and other organisations permanently operating- in the individual countries of the world, in constant liaison with the other organs of the State, as well as with the homologous structures of other partner countries, especially European ones, with particular attention to the phenomena of Terrorism, socio-political crises, natural disasters and health emergencies.
A dispassionate advice from the portal of Italians in Kenya, if you haven't done so yet, download the Dovesiamonelmondo app and report yourself!
