For 20 years now, Roman chef Remo Briziarelli has been offering his great professionalism and experience to the town of Malindi and beyond.
He has happily started many activities in Kenya and managed many restaurants, including a parenthesis "abroad", in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he worked for the large hotel chain Ramada. His latest ventures include the renovation of the Bar Restaurant at the International Airport, which has been running for three years now despite the period of restrictions, and now a new professional adventure: the Double Heart Resort.
The Double Heart has been operating and internationally known for fifteen years and has 36 rooms, eight of which are suites, all overlooking the large swimming pool, located in a quiet street a few hundred metres from the Casino and the city centre, with great attention to detail and the choice of quality materials used, with a large conference room that can accommodate up to 100 people, a bar and a restaurant overlooking the pool.
It is also an ideal venue for ceremonies and private parties.
Remo has recently opened the doors of the restaurant to the outside world: he has modernised the large and functional kitchen, restarted the pizza oven and passed on his imagination and passion to the staff and his collaborators, creating a varied and original menu with a variety of possibilities, from Italian classics of fresh homemade pasta, to fish from the Indian Ocean and shortly specialities from the North Sea such as salmon and cod.
Obviously, as is Chef Remo's custom, there is a great deal of attention paid to local and international clientele, with recipes that are faithful to the Kenyan tradition, grilled meat and fish and other delicacies that can be prepared by reservation or even ordered and collected or delivered to your home to be eaten at home, such as fresh pasta.
A series of events and themed evenings are also planned.
The first proposal from August will be "Breakfast at Double Heart", a sweet and savoury buffet with strictly fresh and home-made products, a juice or a glass of water, a coffee or a cappuccino for only Kes. 400.
All this in an appropriate environment, with a pleasantly retro taste and an excellent level of service.
