On the one hand the cautious optimism of the doctors who are treating the first patients who imported Covid19 , on the other the anxiety of waiting for the situation to explode at any moment, as the second half of the quarantine of almost 1000 people in the country is approaching.
These are all the people who came into contact with the eight positive patients in the first week. Nairobi, Kilifi, Kwale and Mombasa are the most represented counties.
From the National Influenza Centre in Nairobi, however, good news comes, Kenyan Health Minister Mutahi Kagwe added that the first patient with confirmed Covid-19 and the third patient tested negative on a new test, adding that a new swab will be performed on them in the next 48 hours.
"We are very confident that the repeated test will be negative, confirming their full recovery to allow the discharge of the two patients from our treatment center," said Kagwe.
The Minister also pointed the finger at the curfew and its outcome, explaining that the Kenyan people must learn to respect the ordinances, because they are made exclusively for their own good and that politicians who demand the total closure of the Nation should do more to make people aware of the success of the curfew. One thing at a time, in short, hoping that the number of infected people will not grow and become unmanageable. For now there are less than a thousand places in intensive care throughout the country and many fewer respirators.
