After the first case in the country, also the national airline of Ethiopia, Ethiopian Airlines, is thinking to close definitively the flights with Italy, refunding or, better, delivering vouchers of tickets to be reused within a year, to those who had already booked a flight on the Italy-Addis Ababa routes.
The problems arise for the Italians who are in Kenya and had already booked the return flight for the next days and weeks. While for those who would like to come to Kenya from Italy using the Ethiopian airline, the hopes are now reduced to the light, also thanks to the order issued by the Italian State.
"After the WHO certification of pandemic - says the statement of Ethiopian Airlines - we will already limit flights to and from Italy as of this week".
To date it is not only very difficult to go to Kenya, but it becomes problematic to return to Italy from Mombasa or Nairobi.
After the closure of Kenya Airways on Rome, the drastic limitations of Qatar and Emirates, the connections between Italy and Kenya are practically closed.
