High number of positive yesterday in Kenya

1385 cases with percentage at 18,3. 15 deceased

Record-breaking numbers in Kenya yesterday regarding Covid-19 cases.
They were 1395 in the last 24 hours, out of 7635 tampons analyzed, with a percentage of 18.3%, thus well above the attention threshold. Together with those of the day before, 1185, an unprecedented combination in the country's pandemic period.
Little does the Ministry of Health raise the fact that 1087 patients were declared cured, partly because only 68 left hospital wards, the other 1019 were at home and were following a recovery plan because they were slightly symptomatic.
In the meantime, another 15 patients have died, and presumably today a thousand Covid-19 deaths will be reached and exceeded.
Currently, there are 1,241 patients admitted to various healthcare facilities across the country, while 4,495 are in isolation and home care.
55 patients are in intensive care (ICU), 32 of whom are in ventilatory support and 23 in supplementary oxygen.
At the same time, 45 patients are separated with supplementary oxygen but not in intensive care, while 11 are in the high dependency unit (HDU).
The distribution of cases in the counties is as follows; Nairobi 569, Nakuru 149, Kiambu 148, Mombasa 147, Uasin Gishu 60, Kilifi 41, Kericho 30, Laikipia 27, Machakos 26, Kajiado 25, Kisumu 19, Meru 18, Kakamega 15, Busia 14, Bungoma 13, Samburu 12, Nyeri 11, Siaya 10, Tharaka Nithi 9, Kisii 7, Bomet 6, Murang'a 6, Taita Taveta 6, Homabay 4, Kwale 4, Elegeyo Marakwet 3, Nandi 3, Embu 2, Baringo 2, Nyamira 2, Wajir 2 while Migori, Nyandarua, Trans Nzoia, Narok and Kirinyaga each recorded one case.
In the coming days the Government has already announced that it will take some measures that, even if they do not concern restrictions such as lockdown, will surely give a tight grip to the national malpractice not to observe the first rules of contagion containment, such as wearing the mask in public places, observing social distances and often washing their hands.
President Kenyatta will speak on Wednesday 4 November, after a meeting with the Ministers and County Governors.
