Kenya opposition reject date of elections

Odinga: "We want october 24th", Jubilee: "You can't decide"

It is political skirmish in Kenya on the date announced Monday by the IEBC Electoral Commission for new elections.
Tuesday 17 October, the date indicated after the annulment of the Supreme Court, was decided by the IEBC in advance of the maximum time allowed (you could go to the vote by 1 November) after the precise request of the Minister of Education in order to avoid the concomitance with the exams of primary schools and secondary high school, which will begin on 23 October.
"There is no technical time to organise them and before the IEBC needs to be reformed – the leaders of the NASA alliance have said it – we have given the names of the six Commission leaders who are to be torpedoed. Our proposed date is Tuesday 24th".
The Jubilee Party, the governing party, through the majority leader in the Senate, Kipchumba Murkomen, is holding a strong reply:"The opposition has no right to demand the date of the elections or to demand dismissal of ESCB leaders. If they do not intend to stand for election, Kenyatta will be proclaimed President and will go ahead with this government".
In the evening, Uhuru Kenyatta also came out with the words of Uhuru Kenyatta, who said he was sorry that the Supreme Court had made a decision which he said was wrong.
"I have respected the Court's decision, but I have the right to criticise it - said Kenyatta - it would have been enough to reconcile all the votes and it would have been clear that I won with 1.4 million more votes. We would also have saved at least 10 billion shillings that would have been spent on the country's development.
