With reference to the options available at the moment to reach Europe, it is communicated, following information just arrived at this Embassy of Italy, that the local Embassy of the Netherlands, in collaboration with the Delegation of the European Union, is organizing a special KLM flight from Nairobi to Amsterdam for European citizens (reserved for those who are temporarily in Kenya) with possible departure Sunday, April 19, 2020, at 15.00 from Nairobi JKIA.
The flight is still under authorization and may be subject to date or time changes, or even cancellation. The cost of the ticket is 900 euro (for the Nairobi - Amsterdam route only), to be paid after the signature of a "bill of exchange/payment" to the organizers.
However, please note that, at the moment, there is no direct air connection between Amsterdam and Italy. This is therefore an option to be considered only in conjunction with a subsequent transfer to other European countries with which air or land connections are still active. In this case, you may be required to show your ticket, previously purchased, for your final destination and transit may only be granted for a few hours. We suggest that you contact the main airlines before embarking on your journey and consult the website of the Italian Embassy in The Hague for more details. If interested, please let us know at nairobi.fdt@esteri.it no later than Friday 17 April at 15.00.
We will then communicate any useful information about other possible special flights for Italian or European citizens, both on the possible special flight to Italy and on other possible flights to Europe.
