Official: travel to Kenya, end of Covid restrictions

No more QR code or swab needed for no-vax

Kenya is also completely back to normal as far as Covid rules are concerned.
Following the directives of the World Health Organisation, which on 3 May officially declared the post-pandemic emergency of the Covid-19 virus over, the Kenyan government too has in fact lifted health restrictions for travellers entering the country.
As a result, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health, signed by Minister Nakumicha Wafula, passengers arriving at the international airports of Nairobi and Mombasa, or entering from roadside customs points and the port of Mombasa, are no longer required to present the now-famous QR code attesting to Covid vaccinations, nor to fill out any forms, either at globalhaven.org or the ministry's own website. Similarly, there is no longer any obligation on the part of the unvaccinated to take a PCR molecular swab valid for 72 hours, nor to prove it in case of fever with a subsequent antigenic swab on arrival in Kenya. With regard to the return from Kenya, the government in Nairobi had already given the go-ahead to foreigners and their compatriots, asking them to simply respect the norms of the countries they would have travelled to.
Italy from this point of view no longer requires any certificates or other documents.

Only those who show up at the departure airport with significant and visible flu symptoms will still be required to fill in the 'passenger locator form' (PLF) on the Kenyan 'jitenge' platform. The Ministry of Health, with regard to air travel only, still recommends contacting one's airline for any regulations concerning the airline itself and any transits to other airports outside Kenya.
