Other 9 cases of Covid19 in Kenya

Slow but constant rising, now total is 59

Another nine Covid19 positives bring the number of infected people in Kenya to 59.
The customary press conference, short and hasty, was not held today by the Kenyan Health Minister Mutahi Kagwe, the most eagerly awaited and popular man in his government and the country for days, but by the Head of National Health Services Mercy Mwangangi, who confirmed the trend of recent days.
The number of people found positive for the swab has once again grown not exponentially but steadily.
Yesterday there were eight, today one more.
Data not yet worrying if it were not that the tests carried out are just over one thousand and two hundred, with an incidence of about 5% of suspects then revealed to be carriers of the Coronavirus. Yesterday, 264 swabs were performed, nine of which were positive. The number of those discharged after 14 days of quarantine also rises: 508.
Meanwhile there are 1668 cases of citizens who have come into contact with the positives currently hospitalized in Nairobi. Among these, the majority are resident in the capital, but today no specific data on new cases have been provided.
Mwangangi confirmed that the facilities already officially dedicated to Covid19 are Mbagathi Hospital, which serves as the main centre, with its 120 beds equipped for the most serious cases, with as many ventilators and intensive care units. Kenyatta University Hospital, which has a specially created space of 300 beds, is also ready to receive emergencies.
As anticipated in the morning by Vice President William Ruto, the Government is also identifying schools and colleges in the country that can transform some of their premises into huge emergency hospital dormitories, as already happened in China during the outbreak of the contagion.
In asking citizens to respect the rules activated by the Government, the Head of the Health Offices has postponed until tomorrow.
