Stop at the kenyan census 2019

Informations for those not counted

01-09-2019 by redazione

The sixth census of Kenyan citizens and residents officially ended last night, Saturday, August 31.
Since 1969, this exercise has been held every ten years, but for the first time officers had the technology to count and "interview" anyone who is staying even temporarily in the country.
As our readers will remember, the census began on Saturday, August 24 and the Ministry of the Interior, in order to facilitate a rapid and effective operation, ordered the closure for two nights, from 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, of every public place, bar, restaurant and discotheque.
Given the discreet deployment of security forces at night, everything went smoothly.
At the end of the exercise the Government announced that there will be no extensions. On Monday, schools that have taken an extra week of holidays for the same reason will reopen.
For those who have not been counted for various reasons, and also for Italian residents in Kenya who were temporarily abroad last week, there is an obligation to report as soon as possible at the county offices of the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) with their identity document and proceed to registration. No penalties will be applied.
