Global hacker's attack now threatens Kenya

Communications Authority send national alert

14-05-2017 by redazione

The global hacker attack that has "infected" computers and telematic networks in the past few days, jumping out of the British healthcare system and creating problems with the US National Security Agency, now threatens also Kenya.
The alarm was launched by the Kenyan Government Communications Authority, which warned public offices and computer and server network owners to pay close attention.
Some "malware" have already been reported by mail that they install on the computer and automatically infect the networks they are connected to, or those with which they connect through various programs.
According to boss of the Communications Authority Felix Wangusi, the most vulnerable computers are those running old Microsoft programs, especially Windows XP.
"Global viruses called Winery, or Wannacryptor or Wanadecryptor are the most dangerous and could already be present on the national network," Wangusi explained, "along with other children who could create problems for our public offices."
Just yesterday, the Minister of Telecommunications has appealed to young Kenyans, explaining that the state will soon need a thousand computers for paid online jobs. A country like Kenya that is rushing towards alignment with the most civilized can not remain on the verge of internet and modern communications.
