Tomorrow Nairobi is "visible city" in Turin

Event with Freddie and Leni at Villa Lascaris

03-10-2022 by redazione

After the success in terms of attendance (and with great joy also in terms of book sales...) of the presentation in Milan as part of the Kenya Festival organised by Africa magazine, Freddie del Curatolo and Leni Frau make an appointment for their readers and fans of Kenya and Africa tomorrow, Tuesday 4 October, for the evening entitled "Nairobi, the visible city", to be held at Villa Lascaris in Pianezza, Turin, starting at 9pm

The evening is free of charge, it is only necessary to book by writing to the e-mail address: eventi@villalascaris.it.
This is what the daily newspaper La Voce della Dora writes about the evening: An evening that takes Nairobi away from the tourist routes and leads one to observe it through two different gazes: that of a couple who chose to leave Italy for Kenya, and that of a woman who followed the opposite route, from Nairobi to Turin.

Freddie del Curatolo and Leni Frau are a journalist and a photographer who, for years, have decided to make Kenya their home, and who recount in a book, Nairobi, published by OGzero, the history, urban planning, voices and colours of the Kenyan capital, and of those who live and inhabit it.  Olympiah Kawira Kathare, delegate of the Kenyan diaspora in Piedmont, arrives in Turin to study and here she decides to stay, for work and for love.

Accompanied by the journalist, a great connoisseur of Africa due to his long professional experience in the continent Angelo Ferrari, they will lead us through the streets and images of Nairobi, in a journey that breaks down the commonplaces of the tourist in urban safari gear and takes on the true soul of the city and of Kenya, a "beautiful mess that will never change".
