County lockdown in Nairobi and four other counties in Kenya.
This was decided a short while ago by President Uhuru Kenyatta during his address to the nation on the Covid-19 emergency.
Speaking about the danger of the third wave, which according to the government will peak at the end of April, Kenyatta confirmed the main restrictions and the advancement of the curfew in the only counties included in the lockdown measure, by two hours.
"Seventy percent of the detected cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in five counties, so Nairobi, Nakuru, Machakos, Kiambu and Kajado have been declared infected areas and no one will be allowed in or out from midnight today until further notice. All movement will be suspended, as well as meetings, gatherings of any kind apart from those for security. The curfew in these areas will be brought forward by two hours.
Kenyatta pointed out that air links with foreign countries will continue as they have been until now.
